Sober Rocket Man

Sober Rocket Man

Well, your ol’ pal Pip is back with a few more tracks to share with you. I think you’ll dig these if you’re into low-key, chill to mid-level upbeat action, with smoke-filled production. That sound good? Let’s go..

Miami Horror – Sober (Childish Gambino Cover)

I absolutely love that Childish Gambino song, and I love me some Miami Horror (“Sometimes” is my jam) and together.. wow! Check out this cover. This is up there as my top track of the week, along with the final one in this list…

Lostboycrow – Powers

Talkin’ to your body like we got too much to say…. This sexy electric song is just so smooth.. If you’re into The Neighbourhood, like I am, you’ll dig this track.

Harrison Brome – Pools

The music video is NSFW, but still check it out of course. This kid from Vancouver, Canada isn’t even 20 years old yet and he’s already put out something this good. Keep an eye out for more greatness.

Mr Little Jeans – Waking Up

We’ve not heard new music from Mr Little Jeans aka Monica Birkenes all year long, but now we’ve got a new track that is just perfect.

Neon Indian – Slumlord

The second single released track off of Neon Indian’s upcoming album “VEGA INTL. Night School” released October 16th of this year. Also check out “Annie” if you like this one.

Astronauts, etc & Toro Y Moi – Rocket Man

“Nice and stonery” is how Neesh described this Elton John cover when I played it on my show Wednesday night. Spot on. It’s everything.

NewMusicFriday: Octobers, The Macks, Patternist, KLEIV, Silversun Pickups, Badlands

Every Friday, we’re going through and checking out the newest music to share with all of you on the station. Sometimes, in the process of gathering the newest jams, we stumble across a few others that aren’t brand new. Below are some awesome tracks, some brand new, some fairly new, some pretty new, but all badass. There are many more new additions to Radio Xenu’s AutoDJ rotation. Check us out and hear for yourself as we’re heavily featuring the brand new music in rotation.

Octobers “Misfits”
Indie, Alternative, Rock.
Kanloops, British Columbia, Canada

Octobers describe “Misfits” as “An indie-pop-rock mixture of hooky guitars, catchy melodies, and heartfelt lyrics.” Sounds about right. This track “Misfits” was released along with 3 others a few weeks back on the Misfits EP.

Thanks to Octobers for reciprocating the love today with a post on their Facebook page! Everyone give them a like.

They’re back with a hot new track! The guys that made it to #2 on the mid-year Top 20 countdown, The Macks, bring us their new song “Buffalo”. This is another good one!

KLEIV “Sweetest Sound”

Our first time sharing music from KLEIV. We just found this track today, but the song actually came out 2 months ago. The soundcloud page describes it as-“It is a song about a passing moment of happiness, mixed as a happy pop tune.”

Patternist “New Fashion”
Indie Pop, Electro Pop, Indie Rock, Alternative
Portland, Oregon

This is such a happy song! Everyone say hi to Patternist. I just found this artist and song today. It’s relatively new.. 18 days as of this post.. Portland is the home of another quality jam for Radio Xenu. Thank you 503!

A new album from Silversun Pickups is coming September 25th “Better Nature”, but in the meantime, they tease us with a brand new single – Nightlight – accompanied by a music video that’s a must see.
